RocIDEA Connection: Beyond Either/Or Binary of Identity Politics
Organized By: RocCity Coalition & Rochester Young Professionals
Navigating the maze of labels that define who we are can be challenging. Join us for a discussion as we explore who gets to decide what those labels are and the consequences of doing so. We’ll relax away from the urgency of ‘having to get it RIGHT’, discuss both the person-first and identity-first movements, and have some fun in the process. This event will be facilitated by Steve Jarose and Sady Fischer of NCBI Rochester.
Join us for networking at 5:30 pm. The program runs from 6 – 7 pm. We will also have a half hour for networking at the end. Light snacks and water will be provided. You are encouraged to bring a water bottle or reusable cup for the water.
About the series: RocIDEA Connection is a series of events, in partnership with RocCity Coalition and the Rochester Young Professionals, to empower Rochesterians to be change-makers through the lens of inclusion, diversity, equity and, most importantly, action (IDEA).
