The mission of Garth Fagan Dance is to conduct cultural, educational and charitable activities including furtherance of the Founding Artistic Director’s artistic vision, production of dance theatre of the highest quality, development of new works, development of future dancers and expansion of audiences. Garth Fagan Dance is an internationally acclaimed contemporary dance company in Rochester, NY. Founded in 1970 by Tony award winning choreographer Mr. Garth Fagan, the Company performs in Greater Rochester, across the country, and around the world. Garth Fagan Dance performs a celebrated repertory featuring Mr. Fagan's signature technique, which draws on elements of modern dance, Afro-Caribbean dance, and ballet. The Garth Fagan Dance School offers dance classes for students age 3 through mature adult. Students gain skill in the Fagan Technique, improve physical fitness and flexibility, and gain confidence and self esteem. The School offers a generous need-based scholarship program. It also hosts a three-week intensive dance program each summer.
