Volunteer Day – CLT Rehab House

June 15, 2019 at 11:15 am
228 Melville St, 14609

Organized By: City Roots Community Land Trust

Volunteers wanted!

We need you to come out on Saturday, June 15th to help get our first CLT rehab house going! We’re asking folks to sign up for a 2-hour shift sometime between 10am and 430pm. No previous experience with working on houses is needed. All you have to do is show up, and we’ll find something for you to do! The focus of the day will be on demolition (cabinets, tub surround, etc), so a great opportunity to get some aggression out in a healthy and productive way. =D

Bagels from Balsam Bagels will be provided to the morning shifts, and we’ll have Speedy Slice pizza in the afternoon.

Interested in helping out, but can’t make it on the 15th? Send us an email at info@cityrootsclt.org

City Roots Community Land Trust is 501.c.3 community controlled non-profit working to establish lasting affordability in our communities here in Rochester, NY. City Roots acquires land and improvements (houses, apartments, commercial buildings, gardens, playgrounds, etc) and then puts it to our members to decide how it should be used.

You qualify as a member if you live within the City Rochester and you meet two of the three qualifications: 1) Pay $25 annual dues; 2) Attend at least 4 CLT meetings within 12 months; and 3) Volunteer in some capacity on behalf of the CLT.

When this house is finished it will be sold to a first-time homebuyer at a subsidized price. The price will be set so that it is affordable to someone making about 50% of the Area Median Income (AMI).
