AT LARGE MEMBER
Melissa moved to Rochester, New York, in October 2015. She spent her childhood in Paris, France, northern Indiana, and Memphis, Tennessee. She studied political science and environmental studies at the University of Chicago and landed a job at the US Department of Energy in Washington DC to advise senior officials on international energy policy, managing US relations with Laos, Thailand, China, Japan, and South Korea. In Rochester, Melissa manages and coordinates projects and programs related to environmental sustainability efforts for the City of Rochester, including, but not limited to, energy efficiency and renewable energy. Eager to contribute to the Rochester community outside of work, Melissa will be highlighting and recognizing the work of Rochester area leaders via the RocCity Doer blog posts in the hopes of inspiring young professionals to get involved and give back.
