RocGrowth Candids

RocGrowth Candids is a bi-monthly event featuring local entrepreneurs who share their personal stories and lessons learned building successful businesses.

We are pleased to feature Mikael Totterman, serial entrepreneur and CEO of Clerio Vision, Inc.  Clerio is a UR Medical Center spin-out that has raised $12 million in angel and venture financing, and has the potential to disrupt the field  of vision correction.  Previously, he co-founded and/or was CEO of several Rochester-based medical-related startups with connections to UR.  Those include Virtualscopics, Qmetrics and iCardiac.  Mike has spent considerable time in Silicon Valley.  We will hear firsthand from this highly accomplished entrepreneur about how he approaches innovation, creates new companies…and why he chooses to do it in Rochester.

We start and finish with informal kibitzing over drinks and hors d’oeuvres.  In between, we conduct an open interview, followed by Q&A, with our featured guests.  Event is free, but attendance is limited to the first 100 RSVPs.  Register soon since the events “sell out.”

Tavern Takeover @ Stone-Tolan

On Wednesday evening, August 30th, the Young Urban Preservationists, Emerging Rochester Architects, and The Landmark Society are partnering to bring you a first-time event at the oldest house in Monroe County. The Landmark Society’s Stone-Tolan House Historic Site was built in the late 18th and early 19th centuries as a farm, home, and tavern. On August 30th, for one night only, we’re turning it back into a functioning tavern with beer from Swiftwater Brewing, snacks, a campfire, and s’mores. Order your beer from the historic bar in the historic tavern! Sip your brew while you take in the garden and orchard from the outdoor summer kitchen.

Tickets will be just $15 and will get you your first beer and snacks as well as access to the Stone-Tolan House and grounds.

Sponsored by: Swiftwater Brewing and Clark Patterson Lee
